About Angelica

Hi, I’m Angelica. Welcome to this space.

I am a writer, artist, and teacher living near the mountains of central Virginia.

Most of my work begins with a self-inquiry: the kind that doesn’t resolve neatly, but asks to be lived with rather than answered.

At an early age, I never truly felt compelled by the version of life that was offered to me as the default. That instinct pulled me into an unconventional life shaped by travel, long stretches of off-grid living, deep study, and a lot of paying attention—to land, to story, to the ways culture, psychology, and myth steadily shape how we behave and what we desire.

My background includes journalism, herbalism, birth-and-death work, psychology, mediumship, ancestral work, and energy reading, alongside years of training in earth-based traditions. While these influences inform my writing and teaching, they don’t dictate it. I’m less interested in expertise than in honest, innate, and reflective inquiry, and more drawn to intuitive evocation than to dogma.

The focal point of my work is a drive to untangle the soul from what has been handed down and tossed around at the societal and ancestral levels while intersecting ecology, the esoteric arts, and history to make a semblance of the story that unfolds. I am fascinated by exploring the human experience and revealing the many mysteries that live at the underbelly of our beings. What makes us, us? And how can we be in right relationship with ourselves, each other, and all that is?

I believe in intention, finding purpose in the process, and the yearning to strive after becoming our truest selves, something I deeply believe is holy and wholly worth it.

I’m the author of Womb Witch: Herbal Magick for Reproductive Health (Microcosm Publishing) and am currently working on my next non-fiction book, which explores the life–death–rebirth cycle through an ecological and mythopoetic lens.
